Adult softball concludes competitive season

The Shockers were able to do in the final game of the season what only one other team had been able to do. Beat Sunset Canyon Baptist. It happened like many other games of the season. The last at bat.

After taking an extra week to finish all the makeup games, the adult leagues concluded a very competitive season of spirited play. Like almost every season, most likely if it was played over, the results would be entirely different. End of the Season tourneys will conclude the season until the Spring league returns in March.

Final Tuesday standings: Sunset Canyon Baptist 14-2, Fighting Pharmers 11-5, Slapnut Magoos 11-5, DS Electric Shockers 11-5, DS Rentals Conglomerates 8-8, UnWanted 6-10, Chronic Offenders 4-12, Misfits 4-12, Baptist Bombers 3-13.

Top Ten hitters: Brian Halbert .746, Ty Scott .712, Jeff Tuck .646, Craig House .644, Travis Tenney .642, Jonathan Bigley .636, Brittan Howeth .600, Billy Foulds .600, Logan Lilly .594, Mark Davis .591.

Monday scores: Sunset Canyon Baptist kept their streak going with two wins. They had to push across a run in the final at bat to eke out the 11-10 win over UnWanted. They were also pushed by the Baptist Bombers before a late surge helped to the 19-16 victory. Slapnut Magoos also matched that win total with an 18-2 win over Misfits and then survived a seesaw battle with Chronic Offenders in a 17-14 win. Another run explosion occurred as Chronic Offenders and UnWanted combined for 48 hits and 43 runs as CO survived 25-18. In the other game, Misfits used a 9-run rally to overtake the Bombers 16-12.

Sunset Canyon went on a scoring spree to pull away from the Conglomerates 13-6. The Conglomerates were able to shutout the Misfits 13-0 for their win. The Fighting Pharmers took a pair with a 14-2 defeat of Chronic Offenders and an 18-2 margin over the Misfits.

Scores: Sons of Pitches solidified their second place standing with two wins. Softball games come to endings in many strange ways. Going into the sixth inning SOP was in a scoreless tie with Lastros. Suddenly SOP broke loose for 14 to win 14-1. In the second game SOP defeated Zeros 16-6. The Zeros overwhelmed T-Baggers 19-2 but the T-Baggers evened the night with an 18-11 win over the Lastros.
