Thomas Champe Shelton

Thomas Champe Shelton loved, lived and laughed each moment of his life. He was born in Denton, Texas, on November 27, 1951 to Edward Everett Shelton and Mary Anne Storme Shelton. Tom grew up playing one of his many favorite sports - baseball. He graduated from Crockett High School in Austin, Texas and later attended South West Texas State. Tom married Lynda, the absolute love of his life, after four short months of friendship on March 5th, 1994. Lynda has always been the apple of his eye along with his daughter Kelly, the pride of his life. Tom’s trademark storytelling, humorous jokes, and Christ-like generosity lifted the spirits of all around him. He pursued various hobbies such as hunting, fishing, and deer sausage making. One of his favorite pastimes was chasing trophy reds down the intercostal canal on his custom built scooter boat. He was fascinated by his family history and connection to the King Ranch. Tom began the first part of his career in the insurance business before creating a successful inspection business, with the help of his wife. He prided himself in delivering prompt service to his many satisfied clients. Tom returned to his Heavenly home on February 8, 2019 after putting up a hard fought battle with lung disease. He is survived by his wife Lynda of 24 years, daughter Kelly Cooper and her husband William Cooper, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Tom is dearly missed by all who knew his gentle nature and infectious smile. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Spicewood Baptist Church, 7903 CR 404, Spicewood, TX 78669.
