Ray Arthur Dirlam

Ray Arthur Dirlam, 89, of Blanco passed away on Friday, June 28, 2019, at the Wesleyan Nursing Home in Georgetown, Texas.

Ray was born on August 21, 1929, in Johnson City, New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ona and Clarence Dirlam, his son Thom, his twin brother Roy, and his sisters Betty and Dorothy.  Ray is survived by his wife of 38 years, Anne Cowart Dirlam of Blanco and her two sons John Paul and Joel, his daughters Kathleen and husband John, Linda and husband Rodger, Nanci and husband Phil and their three children. Ray was with IBM for thirty-four years before retiring on October 31, 1991. Afterwards Ray enjoyed his dream job of buying, restoring and selling antiques at Cranberry’s Antique Mall in Blanco and talking politics with everyone. He loved a good debate about the issues of the day.  Ray was a faithful conservative and was glad to let you know why.  He dearly missed his Bannockburn family from Dripping Springs when he moved to Georgetown in 2016, but he quickly made friends at the Wesleyan and had a wonderful life there. Ray treasured the friendship and spiritual guidance from Clay Barton and Inell Claypool. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at the Wesleyan and at Altus Hospice.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019, at Blanco Historic Cemetery in Blanco under the direction of Crofts-Crow Funeral Home in Blanco.
