Jesse Milton (Pete) Langston

June 15, 1962 – October 27, 2020

Pete passed away December 15, 2020 in Round Rock, Texas after wearing out his earthly body at the age of 87.

Born in Dripping Springs, TX on December 16, 1932, to Jesse Monroe and Ottie Ragland Langston, he graduated from Dripping Spring High School in May 1950 and was drafted into the U.S. Army and served honorably until 1955. He was driving home with a buddy in May 1956 when he saw a young woman standing on 7th St. in downtown Austin and told his buddy he was going to marry that girl. Fortunately, his buddy knew her and set them up on a blind date and on August 10, 1956 Pete married Dale Lynn Holtzclaw. Four years later they had a daughter, Karen and a son, Kenneth followed in 1964. Pete and family followed his work in the paper business to Corpus Christi, Lubbock, and McAllen, before an opportunity in 1974 landed them back in Austin where they remained

Pete is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Samuel. He was a wonderful husband to his wife of 64 years, Dale and a loving father to his children, daughter & husband, Karen & Robert Bevill, and son & wife, Ken & Julia Langston. And he was Pops to grandson & wife, Jeff & Meghan Bevill, grandson & wife, Chris & Chrissy Bevill, grandson, Luke Langston, and only granddaughter Grace Langston. He also was blessed with four greatgrandchildren, Charlie, George, Abbie, and Chloe Bevill.

Additionally, he is survived by sister-in-law and husband Pat & Louis Hartgrove and a host of nieces and nephews.

Due to the pandemic a memorial will be held at a future date. Donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
