Cayla Sue Aubrey Tracy

June 15, 1962 – October 27, 2020

Cayla Sue Aubrey Tracy was born June 15, 1952 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Barbara & Bob Aubrey. She died on October 27, 2020 in Ada, OK at Mercy Hospital.

Cayla Sue attended Kindergarten in Wewoka and graduated from Wewoka High School in 1970. She attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a Chi-Omega and active leader on OU’s campus. Cayla transferred to East Central University to finish her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed the 5-year program with a Registered Nursing Degree, and graduated in ECU’s first nursing class. She married Terry Paul Tracy of Ada, OK after meeting him at ECU where he taught Ceramics. Terry and Cayla spent the next 47 years together. They had two children: Christopher Chae Tracy, and Breca Starr Tracy. Cayla was a leader in the community and an active and involved mother. Through the years Cayla served various roles such as President of Hayes Elementary PTA, Cougar Moms, ECU’s Chi-Omega Chapter Advisor and Homecoming Committee, and a parent sponsor for the First United Methodist Church Cross Pointe Camp. Cayla was often found at all the Ada Cougar events volunteering for the town and all of the kids and athletes she loved so dearly. She was also an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). After retiring from nursing, Cayla established Holiday Traditions & Balloon Bunches on Mississippi in Ada, OK. Cayla spent 30 years in business. At the end of her career she traveled between Ada and Lake Texoma where she and Terry enjoyed semiretirement. She also made frequent trips to Dripping Springs, TX to visit her five grandchildren.

Cayla Sue is survived by husband, Terry P. Tracy, Ada; son, Chae Tracy and daughter-in-law, Monya Tracy Dripping Springs; daughter Breca Tracy and son-in-law, Gary Hatter, Dripping Springs; five grandchildren; Sarys Tracy, Ciely Tracy, Caston Tracy, Sloan Hatter and Jennings Hatter. She is survived by sister, Chris Aubrey Purcell and brother-in-law Gary Purcell, Norman and brother, Bob Aubrey, Ada. Cayla was preceded in death by her mother and father, Barbara Massey Aubrey and Bob Buck Aubrey.

A memorial for Cayla Tracy will be held on Thursday, October the 29th at 10:00 am at the First United Methodist Church of Ada. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make donations to the Ada Senior Care Center, 301 E. Kings Rd.
