Firefighters with North Hays County Fire Rescue (NHCFR) have been deployed to California to assist with the Creek Fire, northeast of Fresno. According to the state’s wildfire information page, the Creek Fire has burned 212,744 acres and was 10% contained as of Monday morning, September 14.

The Dripping Springs City Council approved the fiscal year 2020- 2021 operating budget of $20,448,550, a number which reflects a balanced budget of revenues and expenditures. The council, knowing the economic challenges many could face due to COVID-19, balanced the budget with no increase in the property tax rate, keeping it at a 19 cents per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. Some of the additional budget dollars derived from Ad Valorem have come from new properties either built or annexed into the city which require additional services and expenditures by the City.
In an effort to help support and protect inperson students, teachers, staff, and administrators during the pandemic, Julie Oliver, Democratic candidate for Texas’ 25th Congressional District, held a PPE drive in Dripping Springs for local schools.
Local veterans and first responders gathered at “The Triangle” Friday morning to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001.
