Winter storm blankets Dripping Springs, Texas Hill Country with snow

Sunday’s winter storm is something the Texas hill country hasn’t seen since Christmas of 2004, according to the National Weather Service. Dripping Springs residents waited in anticipation for the snow to start falling, as weather reports predicted between one to two inches.

The rain began to fall early Sunday morning and turned to sleet a couple of hours later. The sleet turned to snowflakes around 11:00 a.m., and it really started to come down. Residents say they were in disbelief of the picturesque views outside their windows.

No doubt, this snow day will be remembered by many for years to come. The Dripping Springs Century News Facebook Page received hundreds of photo submissions from residents showing off the fun of their children, pets and themselves! Other social media pages and profiles were filled with snowy scenes of a day that brought unity and joy to the communities of central Texas.
