Project Connect, working with the City Emergency Management, coordinated volunteers to fill and place sandbags at The Springs Apartments at 289 Springs Lane.

The apartments, which had been previously flooded, were deemed to be at risk if another heavy rain occurred. The sand bags were put in place to help avoid any additional damage.

Project Connect paid for a sand shipment to be delivered to the volunteers, and volunteers from the Dripping Springs United Methodist Church, including the church’s affiliated Boy Scout Troop 101, filled the sandbags. Volunteers brought gloves, shovels, and wheelbarrows to the effort which took most of the afternoon.
