Thirsty Thursday moves to Pioneer Bank Building

Venue Host Nancy Fierstien said “We’re not moving all that far from the City Hall Council Chambers space we’ve occupied before. Meeting space in the Pioneer Bank building at 100 Creek Road and Highway 290 will be put to use for our Jan. 16 and Feb. 20 programs.”

In 2020, third Thursdays of each month in Dripping Springs will continue to be “Thirsty Thursday,” for area residents who favor the works of local poets, musicians, songwriters and storytellers. It is vital to note, however, that a new meeting location is involved.

Austin poet and storyteller Jo Virgil will be the featured guest at 7 p.m. on Jan. 16. She’s the author of two stories published in Real Women Write: Growing/Older, a collection released by the Story Circle Network in December 2019.

That collection of writings is described as responses “to the profoundly significant period of growth that comes to us with the passing of time,” and it is available from Amazon.

“Our February program will bring in several of the contributors to Through Layered Limestone: A Texas Hill Country anthology of place, published last Fall by Friends of the Boerne Public Library,” Fierstien said.

Anyone seeking access to these programs should use the door marked “Factor Technology Suite 200” on the west side of the Pioneer Bank building.

Open Mic sessions follow each presentation, and the suggested theme for January is “Meanwhile...” Admission is free to all ages, and light refreshments are provided. For more information, call 512-858-2024.
