Hays County hosted two free COVID-19 testing locations on Sunday. Testing took place by appointment at sites in Wimberley and Dripping Springs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. provided by a partnership with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services and the Texas Army National Guard. According to Hays County Local Health Department Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the health screening checked for symptoms, including fever/chills, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, sore throat, headaches, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and nasal congestion. County makes coronavirus testing more accessible for uninsured

Live Oak Health Partners is now testing Hays County residents who don’t have insurance but have been screened by the Hays County Public Health hotline and deemed necessary to be tested. Free testing is by appointment only Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Uninsured residents of Hays County who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 can call the Hays County COVID-19 hotline at 512-393-5525 to be screened for testing and be referred for a free test.
