Sheriff holds summer blood drive
The Hays County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with “We Are Blood” (formerly the Blood Center of Central Texas, in hosting a blood drive at the Dripping Springs HEB on Saturday June 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Blood volunteers can donate one-pint of whole blood every 56 days and are encouraged to eat a meal before donating. The Dripping Springs blood drive is part of a larger county wide coordinated effort in June between the blood center, The Hays County Sheriff’s Office, HEB and Cabela’s. Other blood drive dates and locations are: Saturday, June 16, at Cabela’s in Buda, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, at the San Marcos Hays County Government Center, rooms 1001 and 1002, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at the Kyle HEB & Wimberley HEB, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Persons unable to make these blood drive dates and locations, but who are still interested in donating blood, are asked to make an appointment online at www.weareblood.org
