Wastewater service will be provided by the City of Dripping Springs via a low-pressure wastewater system serving the entire Driftwood development. The low-pressure wastewater system will be collected in a regional lift station to be located within the Driftwood development and ultimately treated at the City of Dripping Springs Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant,” according to a report by DS City engineer Chad Gilpin.

The Dripping Springs Planning and Zoning Commission voted (7-0), at their Aug. 27 meeting, to approve a recommendation to the City Council to allow an additional 17.39 acres to be added to the Driftwood Solage Subdivision, located at 582 Thurman Roberts Way, off of FM 1826. The current 27-acre subdivision tract [Lot B-1] would then increase to about 44.4-acres in size.

Approval recommendation rests on the condition that the applicant obtains Hays County approval.

The proposed tract of land is to accommodate plans for a mixed-use high-end residential development, and is part of over 539 acres, called the “Creek Tract,” which is subject to the Development Agreement between the City of Dripping Springs, and Salt Lick owner M. Scott Roberts.

Located in the Onion Creek watershed and Edwards Aquifer Contributing Zone, the proposed Lot 1-B is bounded by Onion Creek on one side, and surrounded on three sides by sections of the overall planned Driftwood subdivision.

Water service will be provided by the City of Dripping Springs by existing water mains, with water purchased from West Travis County PUA.

The 539-acre “Creek Tract” is one of two parcels of land comprising the immense “Driftwood Development” entity of over 1000 acres. The other parcel of over 522 acres is called the “Ranch Tract.” Overseen by Roberts,  his longtime friend Don Bosse, and the “Discovery” team,” the project co-exists with the Discovery Land Company.

The Discovery Land Company builds luxury private club communities across the country from California to New York, and across the world from Maui Hawaii to the Bahamas.
