A new place where burgers and fun are always in fashion

“Eatery or family destination place? I think we’re all of the above,” Nico IIai said.

The owners of the newly opened Roadrunners Kitchen and Spirits have a message for Dripping Springs, “Be prepared to taste the best burger you’ve ever had, and be prepared to have fun on our two acres.”

Roadrunners owners Nico IIai and Steve Gee have put the focus on elevating the burger with their offerings of grass fed, hormone free, tri-blend angus beef burgers. After that, comes a focus of providing a family destination, and a full bar, with unique craft cocktails for adults.

“Eatery or family destination place? I think we’re all of the above,” Nico said. “We’re a place where kids of all ages, including adults, can come eat, play, and relax, with quality burgers, draft beers, craft cocktails, and a full bar. Our motto ‘eat, drink, and plays’ sums it all up in three words.”

For family fun, guests have a choice of an 18-hole-minature golf course, a covered sandbox (to protect little ones from the sun), swing sets, corn hole/bag toss, washers, tether ball, ping pong, darts, and live music on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

“I’ve lived here in Dripping for many years, and my son played DSYSA soccer here in Dripping Springs Sports Park,” Nico said. “After soccer there were no places available where you could show up such a large group of people impromptu. Now there is. Our large outdoor space is big enough to handle whole sports teams and their parents right after a game.”

Roadrunners is also available for kids parties, wedding receptions, or similar occasions. “We can accommodate just about any large size group,” Nico said.

“Our menu is just getting started. We’re offering 3 burgers on our menu, 2 chicken sandwiches, 2 vegan options, and a sandwich or burger of the month. From here, we’ll branch out,” Nico said. “We can also tailor to a specific need. So if you’re on a gluten free, paleo, keto, or other diet, we can fit your needs.”

In the near future, Nico and Steve plan to add a brunch menu and will expand items on the menu based on customer feedback. “People tell us our burgers are the best they’ve ever tasted,” Nico said. “We want to hold on to that quality.”

For adults, co-business partner Steve Gee brings 30 years of experience in the bar industry, and deep knowledge of craft cocktails, which includes a large number of drink patents (he won’t say how many). “We have all fresh ingredients and I make my own infusions for the cocktails,” Steve said. “I also personally train our bartenders. I show them it’s not just the ingredients, but the order in which they’re put into drink. In many ways, it’s a form of chemistry. Alter one step in the process, and you get an entirely different result. I want our results to always be the best, no shortcuts.”

“No shortcuts is also true in our kitchen,” Steve said. “Our chef John Tallent puts quality into every order. In my 30 years, I’ve learned the bar and kitchen go hand-in-hand. You have to get both right.”

In addition to the 2 fenced in acres for the venue, visitors will have no problem finding parking on an adjoining half-acre parking lot.
