Red Arena returns to Ranch Park this weekend

NON PROFIT

RED Arena returns to Dripping Springs Ranch Park on June 1 and 2, for its eighth annual Wine-Up and Round-Up fundraiser.

RED stands for Riding Equines for the Disabled, and the non-profit holds the “mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through a unique combination of horses and therapies.”

This year’s fundraiser event kicks off with the Wine-Up Party on Friday June 1, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be live music, complimentary adult beverages and food, as guests review a large variety of silent auction items, which will include George Strait VIP tickets. RED Arena will also have therapy horses on hand for people to meet.

RED Arena’s Round-Up will take place the following day, Saturday June 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no entrance fee, and the day will include a petting zoo, face paintings, as well as kid games, as the riding events take place, and the silent auction continues. BBQ and snow cones will also be available.

There will also be a RED Arena Hill Country 5k/10k run, and a RED Arena’s Equine Trail Sports Trail Challenge on Saturday morning. The 10k run will begin at 7:30 a.m., and the 5k run will begin at 8 a.m. The trail challenge will begin at 10 a.m. For registration information visit http://www.redarena.org/round-up.html.

“Last year’s event,” according to RED Arena Founder and Executive Director, Jennifer Young, “was truly amazing.” “The riders, their parents, volunteers, and community came together to support us in such a phenomenal way.” The 2017 fundraiser had over 900 attendees, and successfully raised over $100,000 for RED Arena. Monies raised from the yearly event are used to care for the horses and maintain the RED Arena facility.
