Pre K and kindergarten registration changes

Proof of residency must be emailed to the registrar at the student’s designated campus (see list below) as soon as possible.

DSISD announced some changes to the pre-K and kindergarten registration process on April 8.

The tuition-based pre-K application deadline has been moved to May 1, and the document drop-off (with the exception of proof of residency) has been moved to Aug. 4. Online registration for kindergarten will remain open until school starts in Aug., but it is recommended that the online steps be completed prior to the Aug. 4 document drop-off date.

Proof of residency must be emailed to the registrar at the student’s designated campus (see list below) as soon as possible. Student proof of residency for pre-K must be received by DSISD by Friday, May 1, to be included in the lottery for campus placement. All other required documents can be physically dropped off at the child’s assigned campus by Aug. 4, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In order to be eligible for the tuition-based pre-kindergarten lottery, the following must be completed in its entirety:

  • Online registration application
  • $100 registration fee paid
  • Proof of residency emailed to designated personnel no later than Friday, May 1.

The on-site Kindergarten Round-Up has been changed to a virtual format at all four DSISD elementary schools. Campus administrators will share details with their new registered kindergarten students in the coming weeks.
