“Join us for a fun evening of live music, dancing, gourmet food & libations, a live auction, and social & raffle games—and help support a piece of Dripping history,” Jenny Pack, Director of Marketing & Events, said.

The Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead annual fundraiser, “Boots & Bling,” will be held on Saturday Sept. 28, at 6 p.m., on the farmstead grounds, 570 Founders Park Road. The annual fundraiser directly benefits the museum.

“Join us for a fun evening of live music, dancing, gourmet food & libations, a live auction, and social & raffle games—and help support a piece of Dripping history,” Jenny Pack, Director of Marketing & Events, said. Single admission tickets for the night are $100, however there are still sponsor opportunities available in five different categories. Sponsorship range in price from as low as $250 to $5,000.

On Sept. 6, The Pound Farmstead also began a temporary photo exhibit. “The display features historical photos from our private collection and includes daguerreotype, tintype, carte de visite, cabinet cards, and snapshots,” Lauren Neugebauer, who is responsible for the Pound House Collections, said. “The display also includes photos of Dripping Springs over the years, and our collection of cameras ranging from a 1903 Brownie to a 1970’s Polaroid.”

“We haven’t decided how long we’ll have the photo display, but it may be for the rest of the year,” Neugebauer said. “It would be interesting if local families came to look at the photos and help us identify some of the people. That would help us continue to catalog the local history.”

The photography exhibit can be seen during the museum’s normal hours, Friday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 (museum admission) at the door. Visit events at drpoundfarmstead.org for more information.
