Mail stolen from post office collection box

The outside mail collection box at the Dripping Springs Post Office was broken into this past weekend.

According to Deputy Mark Andrews with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office, they do not have a suspect at this time, but an investigation is underway. “Those who believe they had mail taken out of that particular box are being asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office,” Andrews said.

A sign on the collection box provides the timeframe. It reads “If you dropped mail in this box between Saturday, (11/28/20) after 12 noon and Monday, (11/30/20) before 7 a.m., please contact the Sheriff’s Office. Reference case number HCSO-2020-00084287.”
