The owner of a Dripping Springs cheer gym was arrested this week for continuous sexual abuse of a child.

Andrew Alan Brown, 35, was taken into custody for the first-degree felony offense by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, Aug. 22. Detectives conducted interviews earlier that day in which a victim, who is under the age of 14, identified Brown as the suspect in the case. According to the arrest affidavit, the victim described multiple instances of sexual abuse as recently as a sleepover at Brown’s house that had “just occurred” as well as an incident dating back to prior to June of 2020. A warrant was obtained for his arrest, and he was arrested by Hays County Sheriff's Office without incident Sunday evening.

Brown was released on Monday, Aug. 25 on a $50,000 bond set by Magistrate Daniel Burns.

Brown, a former all-star and University of Texas cheerleader, had established Tiger Cheer Force, LLC in Dripping Springs and incorporated it in May of this year. The cheer gym boasted all-star squads and private and semi-private tumbling and conditioning lessons, according to its Facebook page.

A person who identified as Andrew answered the phone number posted on the Tiger Cheer Force Facebook page. When asked for comment on the arrest, the man hung up the phone.
