Library improves eBooks and eAudiobooks
Great news from the Dripping Springs Community Library if you read or listen to books on OverDrive (Libby)!
In order to give OverDrive users a better experience, DSCL is stepping away from the Central Texas Consortium early in January. Why? So your wait times for eBooks and eAudiobooks go down! Once the transition has been made, you will no longer be competing against all of the people from the over fifty libraries currently in the Consortium who want the same title!
Here is what to expect. If you currently have a book checked out that is part of the Consortium but DSCL does not own it, you will be able to finish reading it according to the regular two week checkout period.
Any holds or items you have on your wish list will disappear. However, these titles will be sent to DSCL, and we will likely be able to purchase most of them for our catalog, if we do not currently own them.
The January date will be confirmed by an announcement on our website and Facebook page. You can also call us. We hope that you enjoy this change! Any questions, please ask us!
New eResource - hoopla!
Beginning January 6, if you have a library card with us, you will have a 4 checkout limit/month to eBooks, eAudiobooks, Music, Movies and TV shows through a new service called hoopla. (This is in addition to Overdrive and RB Digital eBooks and eAudiobooks). Stream or download any of these formats. Come to the library to download the material if you cannot stream at home. How do you access hoopla?
Log in to your account, and it will be listed among all of the eResources currently available to you.
DSCL is located at 501 Sportsplex Drive. Online at dscl.org .
