Library fundraiser Pouring Over Books held at Prospect House

..we had a good time, as always, in support of our library,” Friends President John Hoag said.

Friends of the Dripping Springs Community Library held its eighth annual fundraiser and wine tasting, called Pouring Over Books, at the Prospect House last week. Friends is a 501( c)(3), whose mission is to support the Dripping Springs Community Library.

“The panel provided some diverse point of views on the subject of climate change, and we had a good time, as always, in support of our library,” Friends President John Hoag said. “We encourage people to visit our website, at fodscl.org, and join our organization. Our library is an important component of our Dripping Springs community, and we are very proud to be able to support the fine people—librarians and volunteers—who make so many good things happen there.”

This year’s format was a panel discussion on climate change which included Charles Jackson, Ph.D., and Division Head for Climate Dynamics at the Institute for Geophysics at U.T. Austin; Asher Price, reporter for the Austin American Statesman; and environmental activist Anna Graybeal. The panel was moderated by Century News Editor John Pacheco.

The wine selection served at the fundraiser, were wines selected by the library support group, The Wine Divas, earlier in the year, and entertainment was provided by the musical group Hot Texas Swing Band.
