Hundreds of thousands raised for DS schools

The Dripping Springs Education Foundation had another successful night of fundraising, raising over $285,000 at its annual Denim and Diamonds Gala.

The gala was held at Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy on Friday, April 8, with presenting sponsor Denbow Company. Attendees included Dr. Mary Jane Hetrick, Dripping Springs Independent School District’s Board of Trustees president, and Walt Smith, Hays County Commissioner for Precinct 4, in addition to other city leaders and business professionals. Besides the dinner itself, the event featured a virtual silent auction, a luxury raffle and a live auction.

“We are so grateful for the support of Dripping Springs and the generosity of our community, who showed up in a big way to support students and teachers in DSISD,” said Audrey Pendergrass, executive director of the DSEF. “All of the proceeds stay right here in Dripping Springs ISD to support our Mental Health Services Initiative and Teacher and Student-led grants.”
