Hope Shines Brightly a success

“On May 3 we are having another fundraiser at our Dripping location called ‘A Night in May.’” Wehmeier said.

Dripping Springs’ faith based Heart of Texas Pregnancy Resource Center held its 6thannual benefit dinner, Hope Shines Brightly, at the Oasis on Lake Travis, on Mar. 7. The evening raised $180,000 towards the operational goal of $500,000 for both of TPRC’s facilities and was deemed "a success" by organizers.

“In a world where we are hearing such heartbreaking news daily regarding abortion in America, on this night almost 300 people gathered and heard about the HOPE that God is bringing to women through the Heart of Texas Pregnancy Resource Center,” HTPRC Founder and Executive Director Debi Wehmeier said. “While we cannot do much about what is happening in other states, we can do something about what is happening on our watch here in Austin, Dripping Springs and surrounding cities.”

HTPRC’s Dripping Springs location is at 1005 W. Highway 290, the building anchoring the Pig Pen BBQ food lot.  HTPRC provides various resources, including a program called “Earn While You Learn Classes.” The educational program offers expectant mothers the opportunity to earn “Mommy Money,” while taking prenatal and parenting classes. Earned money can then be used for items in the center’s boutique as well as Amazon Smile.

“On May 3 we are having another fundraiser at our Dripping location called ‘A Night in May.’” Wehmeier said. “On that night, twenty-percent of the money spent on food in the Pig Pen Food Trailer lot will benefit Heart of Texas Pregnancy Resource Center. Then on October 7, we have our annual golf tournament at Vaaler Creek Golf Course in Blanco.”

All donations to The Heart of Texas Pregnancy Resource Center, a 501c3, are 100% tax deductible. More information can be found at HeartOfTexasPRC.org.
