Honor Flight planned for Hays County Veterans

There will be an Honor Flight for eligible veterans of World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam on September 28 and 29. Honor Flight Hays County Flight #53 will be a special community flight for eligible veterans who reside in Hays County.

The Honor Flight press release states, “They will go on “a Trip of a Lifetime” to visit the memorials built in honor of their service. In addition, this is a Memorial Flight that will honor the late William “Bill” Kolbe, who passed away in February 2018. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a professor at Southwest Texas State University for over 40 years.”

The mission of Honor Flight Austin is to transport eligible veterans to Washington D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices, and return them home to their families and loved one.

There is an additional “Women Veterans” flight scheduled for October 19 and 20.
