HometownMissions needs volunteers this weekend

Efforts will enable long time Dripping Springs family to stay on their land

Dripping Springs HometownMIssions needs volunteers this weekend, Sat. and Sun. November 17 and 18, to continue their project of providing an affordable home for a Dripping Springs family.

Work scheduled this weekend includes- building a new 12’x12’ front porch with roof, re-set back porch landing and stairs, Build an 8’x12’ shed, install skirting around the base of the home, and finish installing vinyl plank flooring (snap-in-place) throughout the home.

The HometownMissions’ press release states, “On November 2nd, we tore down Liza’s home on Creek Road. She and her family moved out on November 1 and we moved her manufactured home in place on November 14, due to weather delays. We will begin installing a new septic system, reconnect the mechanical systems, and do a bunch of other work to ready this home for a very deserving local family over the next week.”

The original house on the land, which the family had owned for many years, had developed severe repair and mole issues. HometownMissions’ efforts will enable the family to stay on their land.

The kick off for the weekend work project is Saturday morning, Nov. 16, at 9 a.m., at 1212 Creek Road.
