Homespun donates 4,000 pounds of food to Helping Hands
Homespun Restaurant donated 4,000 pounds of food to Dripping Springs Helping Hands Food Pantry, just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. The Helping Hands food bank helps community members who are in need of nourishment, but who do not have the necessary means.
Ford commented that he was “happy to be a part of Dripping Springs and happy to be able to give back to the community. The love of this community showed us when we underwent the recent flood touched me and Jennifer [wife and co-owner of Homespun] deeply. You don’t forget a thing like that. I think it’s only right that we come together and help each other out when we go through tough times. ”
With this delivery, and their deliveries over the past five years, Homespun owners Randy Ford and Jennifer Walker have donated over 13,000 pounds to the Helping Hands food pantry.
The heavy donations come from the Oktoberfest MusicFest, musical concert event, which Homespun hosts each October.
Walker said, “We should also give thanks to our sponsors, which help with the success of our Oktoberfest MusicFest, and the amount of food that can be donated.”
This year’s sponsors were South Point Hyundai, Sky Cinema, Comfort Patrol, Mary & Associates Insurance, Sugar Island Rum Co., Arches Self Storage, Tres Agaves Tequila, Amador Whiskey Co., Tiffany Lohden America Financial Mortgage, Supreme Hardwood Floors, Corridor Title, LeMuse Coffee, and The Dent Shop.
