Hill Country Sporting Clay Competition: Mission Accomplished

"MIssion Accomplished is how Grand Knight Patrick Manning described the success of this eyars Sporting Clay Competition, which serves as the year's main fundraiser for the St. Martin's Knights of Columbus Council.

The 7thAnnual Knights of Columbus Hill Country Sporting Clay Competition & Fundraiser (formerly The Hill Country Shootout) once again hosted veterans from the Center for the Intrepid and area shooting sportsmen.

“I want to thank everyone who helped—the onsite volunteers, raffle ticket sellers, volunteers who secured sponsorships or donations for our new online auction,” Manning said. “Thanks to their help we did it! We had our biggest fundraiser this weekend. Thanks to their hard work.”

Money raised from the fundraiser is returned to the community in the form of scholarships, and support for organizations like: The Burke Center for Youth, The Center for the Intrepid, area veterans, Special Olympics, local food pantry, as well as the ministries and services of St. Martin.

“There were some powerful moments and emotions experienced by all and our Council and Parish demonstrated the Catholic actions and values to all who attended.

Acta Non Verba,” Manning said.

The Latin term “Acta Non Verba” translates into English as “Deeds [or Actions] not words.” Next years sporting competition is tentatively scheduled for Saturday August 17, 2019.
