Project Connect held a flood relief fund raiser at Hudson’s on Mercer on Wednesday May 15. The event sponsored by both Project Connect and Hudson’s on Mercer Street collected gift cards, cash, and checks to aid local flood relief efforts.

Project Connect Vice President Renee Harper stated their goal was to raise $10,000 to aid local residents who were affected by the recent floods. Of particular concern were the residents of The Springs Apartments located at 289 Springs Lane. “About 22 apartments were affected, and some of the residents are going to need relocation help as mold is now becoming an issue,” Harper said.

The music venue event included music by Chad and Natasha Hudson, local musician Wyatt Weaver, a karaoke party, and music trivia.
