DSISD Renews Dr. Gearing Contract
DSISD SUPERINTENDENT
The Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees extended Dr. Bruce Gearing’s contract as superintendent for the Dripping Springs ISD to June 30, 2023, at a salary of $226,646 (a 3% increase), at the June 25 school board meeting. His previous contract was to June 30, 2022.
Dr. Gearing has been the superintendent for Dripping Springs ISD (DSISD) since February of 2012. Prior to taking his leadership role in DSISD, Dr. Gearing served as superintendent of Marshall ISD from 2009 to 2012, three years as an assistant superintendent at Mount Pleasant ISD, one year as a junior high principal, and four years as an elementary principal. He also has three years of international experience in education and is a native of South Africa.
He became a U.S. naturalized citizen in 2010. He and his wife Aldine have four children currently enrolled in DSISD schools.
