DSISD earns Five Stars TXSmartSchools

LOCAL SCHOOLS

Dripping Springs ISD (DSISD) announced that it earned the highest possible rating of “Five Stars” in the 2018 TXSmartSchools ratings.

The press release stated, “Only 49 school districts/

charters statewide received the top rating, and DSISD is one of only two school districts in Central Texas that was includ ed in the fi e-star list. The ra - ing indicates a district’s success in combining cost-effecti e spending with the achievement of measurable student academic progress compared with their fiscal peers ”

Individual schools with - in DSISD w ere also rated: Rooster Springs Elementary received Five Stars, Dripping Springs Elementary and Dripping Springs Middle School received Four and a-half Stars, and Walnut Springs Elementary and Dripping Springs High School received Four Stars.

TXSmartSchools ratings can be traced back to 2009, when the 81stTexas Legislature created the Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST), which was based on a similar rating methodology. In the initial FAST rating r elease in 2010, DSISD earned Five Stars and has consistently earned high ratings in subsequent years.
