DSISD Board Vacant Seat

SEAT VACANCY

The Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees is accepting applications to fill the vacant trustee seat until July 16, 2018 (4:00 p.m.). Applications then will be reviewed and applicants will be selected for interviews during executive session at special Board meetings to be held between July 17, 2018 and August 17, 2018. A new member will be appointed by majority vote of current Board members in open session on August 20, 2018. The individual who is appointed will serve on the Board for the remainder of the current term, which expires in May of 2019. The vacancy was created when Trustee Shelly Reeves resigned the position last month.

Candidates for a school board of trustees in Texas must meet the following qualifications:

· Be a United States Citizen

· Be 18 years of age or older

· Not be mentally incapacitated (as defined in DSISD policy)

· Have not been convicted of a felony

· Be a resident of Texas and the district for a specified period of time (see DSISD policy)

· Be a registered voter from the territory of the office sought
