Dripping Springs Montessori: 'preschool is the new college'

Last week, the Dripping Springs Montessori School celebrated its recent opening with a ribbon cutting, sponsored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.

The event took place on Friday, Feb. 10, at the school itself, located at 27008 Ranch Rd. 12, Suite A, in Dripping Springs.

Dripping Springs Montessori School utilizes the human-centered Montessori curriculum coupled with the latest brain research to support children and their families during the most important years of brain development and growth. This is why they say that “preschool is the new college.” These early years make the greatest impact on who children will become for the rest of their lives. Therefore, they believe that our youngest learners deserve the best, highly qualified teachers, small ratios and a beautiful learning environment with plenty of opportunities for them to explore their curiosities and interests.

Founder Daisy Han incubated Embracing Equity — a virtual online learning program that fosters the ability to recognize, analyze, and then take critical action against unjust systems — while at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Now, she continues to demonstrate the positive impact high-quality early childhood education can have on children, the teachers and families. Hoping to change the national narrative on the importance of early childhood education, Dripping Springs Montessori School is a lab school that prioritizes learning for all and models innovation, integrity, anti-racism and a promise to keep raising the bar so that all children can thrive.
