Dripping Springs Chamber hosts Star Awards once more

The Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce hosted its Star Awards event last week, recognizing local individuals, organizations and businesses for their contributions to the Dripping Springs Community.

The Star Awards, hosted by Dripping Springs Distilling, took place on Thursday, March 2. The event was organized by the Chamber’s Susan Kimball and Amanda Miyamoto and featured radio personality Bama Brown as its Master of Ceremonies. Beginning with a cocktail hour, the event also included dinner catered by The League Kitchen & Tavern, a silent auction and an awards ceremony.

Seven awards were distributed throughout the evening to individuals, organizations and businesses initially nominated by the Dripping Springs community. On the business/ organizational side, Curis Functional Health won Business of the Year, Patriots’ Hall of Dripping Springs won Non-Profit of the Year, 12 Fox Beer Co. won Outstanding Customer Service and Fitzhugh Brewing won Up & Coming Business. Individuals recognized ineluded Kathryn Chandler, munity; Mark Sewell, who won the Hometown Hero award for her work with Patriots Hall and the local veteran com- won Business Person of the Year for his work with Hill Country Ranch Pizzeria, The Driftwood Bistro and Hill Country Sweet Shop; and Al Gonzalez, who won Ambassador of the Year.

“What a fabulous night celebrating the businesses and people of Dripping Springs!” Miyamoto said. “Congratulations to the winners and finalists in each category.”

The Chamber of Commerce extended special thanks to its volunteers and in-kind sponsors, including the Star Awards Committee (Eustacio Lara, Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room, Chair; Jackie Gonzalez, J29 Associates; Samantha Larghe, Destination Dripping Springs; Dee Marsh & Dana Mihaly, Marsh & Mihaly Marketing Group); the Chamber Board and associates; dessert sponsor Tootie Pie Company; and beer sponsor 12 Fox Beer Company.
