Dripping Farmers Market ranked number one in Texas

Dripping Springs Farmers Market is the cream of the crop in Texas. That’s according to the results of the Farmers Market Celebration, a contest organized by the national organization, American Farmland Trust.

The contest which celebrates Farmers Markets across the country, not only recognizes the Dripping Springs Farmers Market as #1 in Texas, but also 7th in the nation. Markets were evaluated in four categories: Focus on Farmers, Healthy Food for All, Pillar of the Community, Champion for the Environment. After months of participation and voting throughout the nation, the results were released last week.

“Our market is small, but growing – just like Dripping Springs,” said Market Manager Laurel Robertson. “And like Dripping Springs, we’re a friendly place where people care about each other. Our community supports us and makes us the best market in Texas!”

The Dripping Springs Farmers Market is operated by the city of Dripping Springs and a volunteer board of directors. The market is held every Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, also known as “The Triangle,” located at the RR 12/U.S. 290 intersection.
