Crimson Creek finds new home at Deep Eddy

Crimson Creek Smokehouse, an Austin-based barbeque establishment, announced its move to the Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room with a ribbon cutting, sponsored by the Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Crimson Creek Smokehouse originally opened as a barbeque catering, pop-up, and competition cooking company in 2015, founded by husband-andwife pair Marcus McNac and Jamie Dickens. Before moving to the Tasting Room, the couple opened a location in the Cedar Valley Eats Food Trailer Court on Nutty Brown Road in October of 2020. They quickly made a name for themselves as an alternative to traditional Central Texas barbeque, by featuring a porkcentric menu, including pork belly burnt ends, ribs and rib tips and pulled pork sandwiches.

Crimson Creek also offers other barbeque staples such as smoked turkey, chopped brisket, jalapeno sausage and a daily selection of scratchmade sides and desserts.

“Moving in with Deep Eddy and their team at the Tasting Room is an incredible opportunity for our family business,” said Marcus McNac, co-owner and pitmaster of Crimson Creek. “The Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room is a popular destination in Dripping Springs. We are looking forward to welcoming guests to the Texas Hill Country as well as our Dripping Springs neighbors and serving a delicious barbecue experience along with their favorite local vodka.”

The Tasting Room has offered Crimson Creek as their food in residence since January. Having their trailer on premises will allow for an expansion of the Tasting Room’s table service menu.

“We have continuously sold out of sandwiches since beginning our partnership with Crimson Creek,” said Michelle Jenschke, general manager of Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room. “They are well established within our community, and we are excited to welcome their fans to the Tasting Room.”

Crimson Creek Smokehouse will be expanding their service days from Saturday and Sunday only to match those of the Tasting Room. Their new hours of operation will be Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

“We couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to combine forces with Deep Eddy Vodka,” said Jamie Dickens, coowner of Crimson Creek Smokehouse. “With our more visible location on HWY 290 folks who may have heard about us but never had a reason to venture down Nutty Brown are discovering our barbeque and becoming new fans. We are looking forward to being a regular lunch and dinner stop for local families and as well as a favorite destination for BBQ and vodka fans who visit the area.”
