City establishes first office of City Attorney
At their Jan. 21 City Hall meeting, the Dripping Springs City Council unanimously approved a resolution appointing Laura Mueller as Dripping Springs City Attorney.
“She is our first full time City Attorney,” said Mayor Todd Purcell. The municipal office of City Attorney was established this past November 2019, when Mueller became a City employee.
“I love Dripping Springs. I’ve worked with the city since 2016, but even in that short time, I’ve seen a lot of exciting changes. I’m looking forward to being more involved in the community and helping in all the exciting growth that is still to come,” Mueller said.
Mueller has been working with the DS City Staff as Assistant City Attorney since fall of 2016 as an associate of the Bojorquez Law Firm, P.C., where she also provided legal services to cities throughout the state of Texas. Alan Bojorquez was the City Attorney, through the firm, for seventeen years prior to Mueller’s appointment.
Mueller was licensed to practice law Nov. 2004 upon graduation from the University of Texas School of law. While in law school she worked at a law firm in Yukon, Oklahoma, her hometown, who was the City Attorney for that city. She also worked as a law clerk at the Texas Municipal League, a non-profit association that assists Texas Cities with legal, legislative, and training matters. After graduation from UT, she worked at the Supreme Court of Texas for two years as a Briefing Attorney. In 2006, she went to work for the Texas Municipal League in its legal department, and then joined Bojorquez Law Firm in 2016.
A resident of Round rock, Mueller plans to move to the Dripping Springs area in the near future.
