City Council approves FY2019-2020 Budget

October first marks the beginning of the City of Dripping Springs Fiscal Year 2019-2020, with a new budget enacted by City Council.

“I’m grateful for all the work the team has done. The staff worked for several months, looking at the needs of the city, trimming where we could. It was hard work, and I’m proud to say that the outcome of all this diligence is a balanced budget, with no tax rate increase.” Mayor Todd Purcell said in a statement to the Century News.

At the Sept. 17 DS City Council public hearing. Council members gave unanimous approvals for:

 

  • A City Ordinance enacting the Municipal Budget for Fiscal Year 2019-2020, funding municipal purposes;
  • A City Resolution ratifying the Budget for FY2019-2020, funding municipal purposes;
  • A City Ordinance approving the 2019 Ad Valorem Tax Rate and Levy of $0.19 per $100 of all Taxable Property within the Corporate City Limits of the City [same as last year];
  • City Ordinance approving an additional homestead exemption of 1% from the appraised value of a residence homestead with a minimum exemption of $10,000.
