Hays County Master Gardener Classes
The Hays County Master Gardener Association will hold its fall training program beginning Saturday September 1, and concluding Saturday November 3. The classes will feature speakers from the horticultural/gardening industry and present programs to expand gardening knowledge. Cost is $200 per person, and enrollment deadline is August 17 (5 p.m.),or when the class reaches capacity. Class fee increases to $225 after August 17. The fall class is limited to 30 seats. Dripping with Taste Wine & Food Festival
The 11thAnnual Dripping with Taste Wine & Food Festival will take place on Saturday September 8, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Dripping Springs Ranch Park Event Center, 1042 Event Center Drive. The event showcases Texas wineries, breweries, distilleries, restaurants, chefs, caterers, artisans, and musicians. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Dripping Springs Visitors Bureau, a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Tickets can be purchased online at destinationdrippingsprings.com.

Disaster Prep by Hays County
The Hays County Emergency Services will host “Learn how to prepare for when disaster strikes,” on Saturday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohlers Crossing, in Kyle. “Information will be provided from Hays County First Responders, volunteer organizations, and local businesses on how you can be ready for when an emergency happens.” The event is free and open to the public. Hill Country Rally for Kids Car Show
Show off your car or motorcycle and compete in the Hill Country Rally for Kids Car Show on Saturday September 15 on Mercer Street! There will be professional and kid judges. We have a lot of new entries this year and several different styles of trophies. Please come out, support the kids and let them experiecnce a great Car & Bike Show! Free Bridal Expo
A “Free Bridal Expo” will be held at Headwaters Center, 708 Headwaters Boulevard, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. “Join us for an afternoon at Headwaters, and discover the leading wedding vendors in the Hill Country.” Over 30 vendors are expected.
September 16
Pioneer Day, Pound Farmstead
The Dr. Joseph Pound Historical Farmstead presents its 28thAnnual Pioneer Day on Saturday September 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Pound House Farmstead, 570 Founders Park Road. “Experience early Texas for the entire family.” The event will have tours of the restored historical farmstead, artisans, live folk music, special displays of antique cars, pioneer games, horsedrawn covered wagon rides, Civil-War re-enactors, and BBQ. Gate admission will be $7.50, children under 4 are free. Pre-purchase tickets can be obtained for $5 (up until September 20) at thepoundhouse.org.

Twilight and Starlight Fundraiser, Pound Farmstead
The Dr. Joseph Pound Historical Farmstead will hold “Twilight and Stars, A Celebration of Dripping Springs” the evening of Saturday October 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Pound Farmstead, 570 Founders Park Road.
