7th Annual Dripping Springs Fair and Rodeo

The 7th Annual Dripping Springs Fair and Rodeo will return to Dripping Springs Ranch Park and Event Center (DSRP) July 27-29 with thrilling rodeo action, live entertainment, a steer show, a Mutton Bustin’ Shootout, good food and drinks, kid’s activities, and family fun. Coffee with Cars

Come by Greater Goods Cofee between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. for a meet up of car enthusiasts. The show is free to the public and anyone with a hot rod, muscle car, sports car, exotic, classic truck, or unique ride is welcomed to come out and put your car on display! Great coffee served on-site by Greater Goods and we will have a food vendor. 160 McGregor Lane.

Books with Rhythm

Blue’s Journey, a program in the “Books with Rhythm” series for ages 9 to 12, will take place at the Dripping Springs Community Library (DSCL) on Tuesday July 31 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Janet Hemingway will share the history of “The Blues” using the book by Walter Dean Myers, an award winning black author and poet. The press release states, “We will track the development of the Blues, ‘meet’ some greats who sang and played the Blues, and create something special to take home.” For more information call (512) 858-7825. Library Summer Club Reading Parties

The Dripping Springs Community Library will wrap up its summer reading with prize parties. Each party will have simple snacks, games, and the announcement of the winners. The parties will be as follows: Ages 0-3: Tues, July 31: 11–11:30am Ages 9-12: Wednesday, August 1st at 5:30-6:00pm Ages 6-8: Thursday, August 2nd at 4:00-4:30pm Ages 4-5: Friday, August 3rd at 11:00-11:30am Please contact the library for more information at (512) 858-7825. Outdoor Movie Night

“Back to the Future” is playing at Founders Pool. Join us at the pool to float or sit poolside for this family favorite! Gates open at 8 p.m., movie begins at 8:30 p.m., and lifeguards will be on duty. Tickets are $3 per person and available at the gate or at http://www.drpoundhistoricalfarmstead.org.

Hill Country Shootout

The St. Martin de Porres Knights of Columbus will hold their annual Hill Country Shootout, a sporting clay competition and fundraiser, on August 18, at the Hog Heaven Sporting Club, 24905 Ranch Road 12. Proceeds of the event will directly support charitable activities in the community. The 24-station event will hold competitions for top men’s, women’s, and junior shooters. Hays County Master Gardener Classes

The Hays County Master Gardener Association will hold its fall training program beginning Saturday September 1, and concluding Saturday November 3. The classes will feature speakers from the horticultural/gardening industry and present programs to expand gardening knowledge. Cost is $200 per person, and enrollment deadline is August 17 (5 p.m.),or when the class reaches capacity. Class fee increases to $225 after August

Hill Country Rally for Kids Car Show

Show off your car or motorcycle and compete in the Hill Country Rally for Kids Car Show on Saturday September 15 on Mercer Street! There will be professional and kid judges.
