Body of Kyle woman found in Bastrop County

Following hundreds of hours of investigative work by Kyle Police Department detectives, the body of a woman reported missing in late February was located in Bastrop County on Mar. 25.

Kyle Police received a report of a missing person — an adult female named Yuridia Anaya-Espinosa Nava — on Feb. 23.

Relatives told investigators that she never returned home after leaving for work on the morning of Feb. 22. Her car was found approximately a week later at a convenience store in southeast Austin.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Ms. Espinosa Nava during this extremely difficult time,” Kyle Police Chief Jeff Barnett said.

He added that the men and women of KPD never gave up the hope that they would find Espinosa Nava alive.

“Our detectives displayed incredible focus and commitment as they worked tirelessly to find her,” he said. “The search was consistently a top priority for our investigators.”

Barnett said that since the body was found in Bastrop County, that agency will spearhead the investigation into her death.
