10th Annual Schoolhouse Scramble a success
The 10th Annual Schoolhouse Scramble, hosted by the Dripping Springs Education Foundation (DSEF) on Oct. 24th at Falconhead Golf Club, was deemed a “success” by organizers as the fundraiser generated a record breaking sum.
Title Sponsor Terry Garnett of Terry Garnett’s Propane kicked off the tournament by hovering above the first hole where 300 numbered golf balls were dropped. Golf balls were sold to the community prior to the event for a chance to win $1,000 for the ball closest to the pin. The winner was Capri Patterson with golf ball #58.
In all, 32 teams and 128 golfers teed off to support teachers and students throughout Dripping Springs Independent School District; and a record-breaking sum of $60,385 was raised to fund DSEF’s vision of “engaging the community to provide more students with better opportunities.”
As a non-profit, DSEF fulfills its vision by providing grants for teachers and students. Recently it has also committed funds for DSISD’s Mental Health Services Initiative.
DSEF wishes to congratulations the following teams:
1st place: Watkins Insurance with Brent Howell, Greg Roach, Stephen Bradford, and Caroline Bradford.
2nd place: Texas Regional Bank with Erin Needham, Lance Spruiell, Greg Lick, and Quinton Clayton.
3rd place: Deer Run Chauffeur with Scott Garner, Kelly Garner, Wally Harmon, and Mark Huard.
DSEF also wishes to express special thanks to:
