Tiger Marching Band hosts 11thAnnual Percussion Invitational

Director Derek Woods has announced The Dripping Springs High School Tiger Band will host the eleventh annual “Thunder in the Hills Percussion Invitational,” Saturday, September 21, 2019. 

What has become a highly-regarded competition for percussionists throughout the region has expanded considerably in the last decade, attracting 25 outstanding percussion units from Austin, San Antonio and Houston for the 2018 competition. 

This year’s program begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, with awards at 6:30 p.m. or after the last performance.  The Tiger Marching Band’s own award-winning Dripping Springs Percussion will perform in exhibition at 3 p.m., just before the last round of competition in the early afternoon. 

Awards will be presented at 6:30 p.m. or following last performance.

Tickets are priced at $8 for general admission, $5 for seniors and children under five are admitted free. Tickets are available at the gate starting at 10:30AM. Tiger Stadium, Dripping Springs High School, is located at 940 W Hwy 290, Dripping Springs, TX 78620. Gates open at 10:30 a.m. Concessions will be available during the competition.
