Run by the Creek Race fast approaching

The race will “benefit local parks and provide funds to local organizations dedicated to promoting running and healthy lifestyles in our communities.”

The Dripping Springs Running Club will hold its 8th “Annual Run by the Creek,” a 5K and 10K run, on Sunday Nov. 10, at 8 a.m., at 195 Roger Hanks Parkway. 

The DS Running Club is a non-profit, and proceeds from the race will “benefit local parks and provide funds to local organizations dedicated to promoting running and healthy lifestyles in our communities.” Earlier this year, $5,000 of last year’s proceeds were donated by the club to the City of Dripping Springs to fund improvements to the running tail at DS Sports and Recreation Park.. 

The registration close date is 7:30 a.m. on the day of the race, but runners are encouraged to register before by visiting runbythecreek.com. 

Packet pickups are scheduled for:

Friday, Nov. 8th, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Rogue Running, 410 Pressler Street, Austin, (512) 493-0920.

Saturday, Nov. 9th, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Kethley Physical Therapy- Medical Towers at Sawyer Ranch, 13830 Sawyer Ranch Road, Dripping Springs.

Age group prizes will be awarded to top men and women finishers in all age groups at 10:30 a.m. the day of the race. There are 13 age groups, beginning with boys and girls under age 9, and ending with men and women over age 70.
