Among the beneficiaries of this community event are-- wounded veterans and their families at The Center for the Intrepid, area Veterans, the Burke Center for Youth, Special Olympics, scholarships for graduating seniors, and local food pantry, ministries and services.

The St. Martin de Porres Knights of Columbus, Council 11695, will hold their 8th annual Hill Country Sporting Clay Competition and Fundraiser (formerly the Hill Country Shootout) on Saturday August 17, 2019, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Hog Heaven Sporting Club, 24905 Ranch Road 12.

Proceeds of the event will directly support charitable activities in the community. The 24-station event will hold competitions for top men’s, women’s, and junior shooters. Trophies and prizes will also be awarded to the top team.

The day’s shooting will be followed with a catered lunch by Railroad Bar-B-Que of Dripping Springs, silent auction close-out, and award of 12 raffle prizes-- 2 ea. $2000 Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops Gift Cards, 8 ea. Cabela’s/Bass Pro Shops Gift Cards; and 2 ea. $1,000 Visa Gift Cards.

Shooter slots are still available, teams costs are $700 and individual shooters can sign up for $175. Separate and smaller donations can also be accepted to help defray event costs.

Lunch is included for shooters (as part of their sign-up fee), and lunch is also available for non-shooters (family, friends, guests), at a cost of $20 per person.
