Harmony Place provides socialization and respite

For caregivers of people with dementia, there is help available in Dripping.

The Harmony Place is a ministry of the Dripping Springs Presbyterian Church, which provides a place for people with Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementia to socialize, allowing time for their caregivers to rest or run errands. It is provided at no cost.

When you arrive, you feel welcomed. Games, music, and friendly conversation are in abundance, and your first impression of the place is that everyone is having fun. The second thing you notice is that everyone’s nametag is the same format so you’re not sure who is a guest and who is a volunteer. 

It was inspired by The Gathering ministry at Westlake Hills Presbyterian.  Dripping Springs Presbyterian member Diane Herrington was a member of Westlake Hills for 15 years, and brought the idea to Dripping Springs co-pastor Nancy Marroquin.  The program runs on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Dripping Springs Presbyterian Church, 26650 Ranch Road 12 in Dripping.  

The program requires that participants be ambulatory, verbal, continent, and live at home.  Caregivers and prospective participants can come by anytime the program is running to check it out.  There is no cost, and you do not need to be Presbyterian to volunteer or participate.
