Career Fair for Veterans April 2

RecruitMilitary will hold a “Virtual Career Fair for Veterans” on Thursday April 2nd from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. “This is a free virtual hiring event for veterans, transitioning military personnel, National Guard members, Reserve members, and military spouses.” To register for this event, visit https://recruitmilitary.careereco.com .

City of Dripping Springs

“All City-sponsored events and all events at City facilities, including all events at Dripping Springs Ranch Park, are cancelled until May 14, 2020. This includes the City’s Annual Founders Day Festival. All commission, committee, and board meetings will be held on a case-by-case basis. The City is open to serve our community, but our City offices are closed to walk-in traffic. DSISD closed until April 3

The Dripping Springs ISD has suspended normal school operations by closing DSISD schools from Mon. March 23rduntil Friday April 3. “During this two-week period, all Dripping Springs ISD facilities will be closed for instruction and all other functions, including UIL events, athletics, rentals, field trips, after-school programs and other campus activities.”  For more information related to the coronavirus closure visit https://www.dsisdtx.us/coronavirus .

 

Library closed until April 3

The Dripping Springs Community Library was closed on March 17, and will be re-opened on Friday April 3. “Out of an abundance of caution and with the support of the library Board, the DSCL decided to close to the public through April 3rd. This was not an easy decision to make. As the situation with COVID10 is ever-changing, and we are monitoring these changes daily, please watch our website and social media for updates,” Librarian Marcia Atilano said. DSCL is located at 501 Sportsplex Drive, and the library’s website is DSCL.org.

 

The Springs YMCA closed until further notice

The Springs YMCA was closed on March 17, and will remain closed “until further notice.” In an email dated March 17, YMCA of Austin President & CEO James P. Finck announced the closure of all YMCA facilities in Austin, Hays County, and Bastrop County citing health concerns. “We don’t know what the future will bring, but we are committed to reopening our Ys at the very first chance we can and look forward to serving our community,” Finck said. H-E-B Changes Store Hours

H-E-B announced changed hours for all its stores and pharmacies. All stores will open at 8 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. until further notice. H-E-B added that customers will also
see reduced services in its delis, bakeries and floral departments.

Burke Center Mad Hatters Gala- Will be rescheduled, date to be determined.

The Burke Center for Youth will hold its “Mad Hatters Gala” on Saturday Apr. 4 at HHS, 12495 Silver Creek Road. “Journey down the rabbit hole for a night to remember with dinner, drinks, a live auction, and great entertainment.” Proceeds will be used to buy furniture for the new dormitory at the Burke Center.
