Charcuterie: an edible art
Charcuterie: an edible art
Rivers of meats and cheeses swim across a wooden surface. Garnishes of herbs and flowers top carefully arranged fruits and vegetables. Tasting bowls of dips and jams, jellies and honeys occupy their own corners. 05/19/2022 12:00 AM

Lady Tigers move up the ladder with wins
Lady Tigers move up the ladder with wins
It has been a steady-asshe-goes trip for the Dripping Springs Lady Tigers as they move through the playoff bracket. The games have become the type of games one usually expects from fastpitch softball. Good pitching, good defense and adequate hitting. This was evident as they played Southwest Legacy in the area round. Of course, the main thing is to come out on top and advance. The Lady Tigers squeezed by in the first game 1-0 and then came back to take the 4-1 victory. 05/12/2022 12:00 AM
Tigers stopped at the start
Tigers stopped at the start
The Tigers baseball team got a double-dose of what had plagued them throughout the season when they took on the Cedar Park Timberwolves in bi-district action. All season long they have been unable to get a starting pitcher to pitch well in the first couple of innings giving up big leads early. Good teams take advantage and turn them into losses. The major cause is freebie walks making the old adage “you can figure on having a run scored against you for every walk you give up”. Comebacks are also tough when a team does not execute at bats in key situations. Cedar Park had it all as they dealt the Tigers 6-1, 9-1 losses to eliminate them from the playoffs. 05/12/2022 12:00 AM

How do you go about selecting a candidate? For me, a resident of Western Hays County, there are several different qualifications I review when deciding who to vote for. One of the main items I evaluate is experience. I’ve found that elected official experience is extremely helpful in working through the governmental process. It’s difficult for a freshman elected official to accomplish much their first year as they are often busy learning the players, the system, the law and how it all works. 05/12/2022 12:00 AM
