Recognizing Memorial Day
US Navy Vietnam Veteran Lenny Jasinski and his two grandchildren, Avery and Beckett Jasinski, placed flags on the graves of veterans at Fitzhugh Cemetery just before Memorial Day. Lenny is a member of VFW Post 2933 and American Legion Post 290 in Dripping Springs. Other local veterans and families placed about 400 U S Flags at four local cemeteries in the Dripping Springs/Driftwood area for Memorial Day in memory of all the men and women who have fought and died in wars and conflicts for the United States.

County appraisal district accused of using private real estate data
The Hays Central Appraisal District has landed themselves in hot water by violating its terms of service, according to the Austin Board of Realtors (ABoR). Allegations from the Travis County real estate entity states that the Hays Central Appraisal District used ABoR’s Multiple Listing Service real estate data without authorization.

Tony Salazar ascends to the summit
Every decade or so, a special athlete makes their mark in the sports world. In the 90s, Dripping Springs' Tony Salazar was that person for Tiger athletics. He would make his impact on Tiger football in his freshman year of 1996.

Local awarded $30,000 Sumners scholarship
Katie Clewett of Dripping Springs was recently awarded a $30,000 scholarship to Baylor University by The Sumners Foundation of Irving, Texas.
