Hill Country citizens remember the late January- early February ice storm earlier this year that coated trees with up to three-quarters of an inch of ice, paralyzed roads, pulled down power lines and left many people in the cold and dark for three days. The number of power outages in the Hill Country alone surpassed 200,000 households, and, in Texas, almost half a million people lost power.
