Dripping Springs Distilling houses ten notable Texas brands

San Luis Spirits announces the acquisition of Texacello, Momentum Brands, and Republic Spirit Blends. San Luis Spirits will do business as Dripping Springs Distilling (DSD). The DSD portfolio includes Dripping Springs Vodka and Gin, 1876 Vodka and Bourbon, Republic Whiskey and Tequila, Paula’s Texas Spirits, Martine Honeysuckle Liqueur, Pepe Zevada Z Tequila, and Republic Spirit Blends.

Gary and Kevin Kelleher founded San Luis Spirits in 2006 as the third company licensed to distill in Texas. Today, there are over 90 distilleries in Texas. Gary Kelleher will serve as CEO of DSD while Kevin will manage the distillery expansion. John Lamey will serve as Executive Vice President.

“We have created an arsenal of Texas based craft brands to challenge the ruling spirits houses,” says Kelleher of the acquisition. “Partnering with our distributors, we will focus on expanding our unique brands in key markets.”

Over 95% of sales are currently in Texas. The expanded business will focus on enhanced sales out of state, initially in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Wisconsin.

Clinton Hansford, formerly Division Manager for Republic National Distributing Company and VP of Sales for Empresario, will join DSD as Vice President Texas Sales. Thomas Kingsley will manage DSD expansion out of State as Vice President of Regional Sales. The expanded sales initiative will be supported by Tom Nall, founder of Republic Tequila, and Pepe Zevada, founder of Pepe Zevada Z Tequila.

DSD will be headquartered at the current 6.7 acre San Luis Distillery in Dripping Springs, Texas,

about 20 miles southwest of Austin. The company will produce over 100,000 cases in 2018

and immediately begin construction to increase capacity to 350,000 cases.
