Viks Jewelers robbed during Saturday morning business hours

Vik’s Jewelers, located at 598 E. Hwy 290 (next to HEB), was robbed at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Saturday November 11.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting that an aggravated robbery had just occurred at Vik’s Jewelers at approximately 11:31 a.m. According to the Sheriff’s Office, “2 black males entered the store and brandished handguns and ordered two employees to raise their hands. One suspect attempted to break the glass to one of the jewelry display cases, but was unsuccessful. The second suspect then fired two rounds into the case to gain access.”

After stealing the jewelry out of the display case the two suspects fled the store in a dark green or gray Nissan passenger car, in an unknown direction. The victims were not injured during this aggravated robbery.

The suspects were described as-

Suspect 1: black male with a light complexion 5’7” 175 pounds

Wearing light colored jeans, black sweatshirt type shirt, tan baseball hat, and wearing sunglasses.

Suspect 2: black male with a dark complexion 5’9” 150 pounds with facial hair Wearing blue jeans, black jacket with a wide white stripe on the sleeves, camouflage style boonie hat, and a construction worker styled reflective vest.

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting that anyone with information regarding the robbery contact them at 512-393-7896 and speak with the Criminal Investigations Division.
